Curringa Farm is an experiential / interpretation attraction where visitors can enjoy quality meals, see a sheep being shorn, watch farm dogs working a mob of sheep and learn about best practice landcare and farming techniques. Coaches can travel through the property to look at the farming, cropping and landcare activities in the field. There are two fully self-contained holiday cottages for FIT travellers to use as accommodation options.
Your hosts, Tim and Jane Parsons are 6th generation farmers in the picturesque Derwent Valley at Hamilton. Only one hour from Hobart, on the Lyell Hwy, en route to Strahan. Curringa Farm is 300 hectares in size and has a diverse range of enterprises. There are 3000 sheep for wool and meat production, crops of oil seeds, cabbages and peas for seed production. Accommodation at Curringa Farm Over the Back Lakeside Spa Cottage Privately situated in natural bush beside picturesque Lake Meadowbank, Over the Back is a two bedroom fully self contained cottage. Sleeping five, Over the Back has a spacious living area, corner spa and deck with beautiful water and mountain views. Perfect for romantic couples or travelling families.
Curringa Farm Cottage Located near the farmyard complex, this spacious three bedroom self contained cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and living area. The deep clawfoot bath, large log fire and beautiful views of the wetland bird sanctuary make it a great holiday house for families. |
