Matildas of Ranelagh is a Victorian gem set among orchards and farmland in the beautiful Huon Valley. A world unto itself, Matildas has gained a reputation for being one of the friendlest places to stay in Tasmania. The house, gardens and adjoining oast house are listed with the National Trust, and Mountain River flows at the lower boundary. Matildas was once home to several generations of the same family, and is once again a warm and welcoming family home as well as a luxury guest house. Accommodation includes luxury spa suites, with Twin and standard Queen well catered for. The rooms are decorated with lovely antiques and the English gardens have colour and appeal the whole year around. We are fortunate to be so well situated, and are close to some excellent restaurants, wineries and all the delights this region has to offer. The Tahune airwalk is a lovely 40 minute drive and slightly further south will find you at the Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs.
