Platypus Valley is a unique place, located in the heart of Cradle Country, which brings you a little bit of Switzerland to Tasmania. The Bed & Breakfast has touches of Swiss influence throughout, inspired by Loriana's time spent in Switzerland which also overflows into her generous hospitality.

Loriana makes you feel instantly at home from the moment you arrive and will spoil and indulge you with her complimentary chocolates, home made cakes or biscuits. Everyone can enjoy the cosiness of the wood fire with their complimentary glass of port. And when it comes to breakfast time, you"ll be spoiled with a delicious country style breakfast.

• Privacy is always assured at Platypus Valley as we make sure we only book one group of guests at a time. 2 bedrooms (1 x queen) + (1 x double). 
• Own full modern bathroom with spa (hairdryer provided) (spa -waterrestrictions apply)
• Curl up in your own Lounge room, equipped with TV, DVD Player, Stereo CD Player, Selection of board games, cards available, guest bar fridge.
• Or enjoy a hot tea or coffee (facilities provided) with home made biscuit or cake baked lovingly by Loriana
  
• Wood fire as well as electric heating throughout
  
• All beds fitted with Electric blankets for extra warmth
  
• Covered verandah with outdoor setting and daybed or relax in the Gazebo by the dam and watch the platypus play.

This area is well known and conveniently located, gateway to the Cradle Country region. A ten minutes drive to Sheffield, affectionately known as the TOWN OF MURALS. Take in the sights at Cradle Mountain(50min drive), Lakes District, World Heritage Area, North West Coast, Mole Creek Caves, The Canyon, walk the bush tracks of magnificent Mt. Roland(1234m), beautiful Lake Barrington- world class rowing Lake -located just around the corner, visit the local vineyards, taste Tasmanian Cheeses and locally made chocolates

From Sheffield take the C141 turn off (opp.Kentish Hills Retreat Motel). Follow the sign Kentish Park to you come to Billing Road (left turn). Approx. 200 m drive to Platypus Valley Driveway (sign displayed). When arriving please park your vehicle under Carport.

If you cancel your booking less than 7 days prior to your arrival date, you will be charged a Cancellation Fee equal to your first night's tariff.  Alterations to this policy are at the the Owner's discretion. Management reserves the right to waver this fee if exceptional circumstances apply. Please contact Loriana if you think this situation may apply to you.  The day begins at midnight.

No refund for cancellation less than the above periods stated.  In the case of a customer not showing up, be clear that Platypus Valley Bed & Breakfast will charge you the entire stay.  Please advise Platypus Valley Bed & Breakfast if arrival is to be later than 6.00pm.
